According to Polkadot official, the 2025 roadmap focuses on promoting multiple updates such as XCM v5 upgrade, Asset Hub smart contracts, Elastic Scaling, JAM Rust SDK, etc. Among them, the unified address format and DOT as a universal fee token have been completed, while features such as Fast Unbinding are still being tested. This upgrade covers EVM compatible smart contracts, RISC-V virtual machines (PVM), Omni Node unified node solutions, and introduces zkSNARK to optimize block production, enhance cross chain communication and scalability, and further improve the Polkadot ecosystem infrastructure.
