Odaily Planet Daily News: Sebastian Siemiatkowski, CEO and co-founder of Swedish "buy now pay later" fintech giant Klarna, said on Saturday that the company is focusing on cryptocurrency integration. Siemiatkowski joked that Klarna was one of the last major fintech companies to enter the crypto field.
Klarna currently serves 85 million customers and collaborates with over 500000 merchants. The company handles a transaction volume of $100 billion, of which 30% is debit card consumption.
While sharing Klarna's plan to adopt cryptocurrency, Siemiatkowski also sought opinions from the cryptocurrency community on potential deployment strategies. Circle's Chief Product and Technology Officer Nikhil Chandhok offered to provide assistance, suggesting that Klarna could settle merchant transactions with stablecoins to speed up processing and improve cash flow. Additionally, it was suggested to integrate a cryptocurrency wallet to provide a direct encrypted payment option for Klarna purchases.
