After the sharp rise on Thursday and Friday, the cryptocurrency market briefly experienced a volatile correction, while the Meme coin sector stood strong.

The launch of Basecat in the Base ecosystem on Coinbase sparked another wave of Meme enthusiasm, with BSC Meme coins like Bicat and BNBCAT, SOL Meme coin CATE, and Robinhood Meme coin CASHCAT becoming the most popular projects in the market.

Odaily Planet Daily will briefly summarize some Meme coin projects, using this as an entry point to talk about the current market strategy of "exchanges + public chains + Meme coins."

Coinbase Strengthens Meme Coins: Basecat Listed on Exchange with Only 9 Million Market Cap

Yesterday morning, Coinbase officially announced the listing of five tokens including Basecat, among which the Meme coin Basecat with a market cap of about 9 million received significant attention for its "rapid listing on Coinbase."

It is understood that this Meme coin features a cat wearing a blue hard hat and was issued through the o1 Launchpad platform as a B20 Meme coin, regarded by the market as "a symbol of the builder culture in the Base ecosystem."

Consequently, Basecat's market cap quickly surged, once surpassing 41 million dollars. As of the time of writing, Basecat's market cap is temporarily reported at around 28.8 million dollars, with nearly 20,000 holding addresses. It is worth mentioning that this is also the first time Coinbase has rapidly listed a Meme coin that was issued only a week ago, and many have exclaimed, "Coinbase has finally woken up."

Soon, the "cat Meme coin craze" initiated by Basecat began to spread to other ecosystems, particularly with BSC ecosystem's Bicat experiencing the most explosive growth.

BSC Ecosystem Meme Coin Representatives: Bicat, BNBCAT

The popularity of Basecat also spurred the BSC ecosystem into action.

Someone discovered a "black and yellow kitten" naming solicitation post released by Binance official in December last year, where the BSC ecosystem token launch platform Flap officially named it "Bicat." Subsequently, the same-named Meme coin rapidly surged from a market cap of less than 1 million dollars yesterday to around 7.4 million dollars. As of the time of writing, Bicat's market cap is temporarily reported at around 1.2 million dollars, with about 6,000 holding addresses.

It is noteworthy that the token developers have issued as many as 168 tokens, earning them the title of "on-chain serial entrepreneurs."

On the other hand, Bicat's explosive popularity also reintroduced the "diversion effect" that the BSC ecosystem is accustomed to. BNBCAT emerged this morning.

This Meme coin is themed around "Binance Cat," and compared to Bicat, its naming concept is much more straightforward. The official posted that Binance founder CZ had previously tweeted about “BinanceCat” back in 2023.

Of course, this token undoubtedly falls under "name-dropping," thus its market performance is relatively mediocre, with a peak market cap of less than 2 million dollars. According to GMGN data, as of the time of writing, the total market cap of this token is temporarily reported at around 800,000 dollars, with approximately 4,000 holding addresses.

Robinhood Ecosystem Meme Coin Representative: CashCat's Market Cap Halved from Peak

Speaking of the hottest Meme coin recently, CashCat on the Robinhood chain is undoubtedly a leader, having launched as the "first native Meme coin on the Robinhood chain," regarded as an important part of the latter's "RWA+Meme coin" dual strategy.

However, after launching on Robinhood, CashCat has not escaped the norm; its market cap has dropped from a peak of over 234 million dollars to around 110 million dollars now. Nevertheless, it is still viewed as the "leading Meme coin on the Robinhood chain," and if the ecosystem explodes again, market performance may rebound once more.

Solana Ecosystem Meme Coin Representative: CATE, "Cats Have Nine Lives"

In this "Weekend Meme Coin Grand Stage Competition," the representative project from the Solana ecosystem is CATE, themed around "cats having nine lives" and "the pet cat of the owner of the DOGE prototype Shiba Inu," although Kabosu Mama had previously clarified that the token has no relation to her.

After experiencing multiple cycles of "rise - collapse - rebound," CATE also regained attention due to the weekend's "cat Meme coin craze." On August 21, its market cap rebound exceeded 35 million dollars; it continued to rise, and as of this morning, its market cap once surged past 80 million dollars and later set a record high of over 91 million dollars.

However, the narrative took a sharp turn: a netizen named Eno posted that he discovered the name of the new pet cat adopted by Kabosu Mama, the owner of the DOGE prototype Shiba Inu, is actually Yomogi. Although the authenticity of this news cannot be verified, and multiple community members angrily accused it of being an AI fabrication, while the similarly named Meme coins have not crossed the million-dollar mark in market cap, CATE still inevitably suffered the impact.

This news, impacting what was originally a Meme coin themed around "the pet cat named by the owner of the DOGE prototype Shiba Inu," caused its market cap to nearly halve, temporarily reported at around 44 million dollars as of the time of writing.

Summary: "Trading Platform + Public Chain + Meme Coin" Ecosystem Strategy Has Become Standard

Based on the existing market projects and the recent coin listing performance on platforms like Binance, Coinbase, and Robinhood, we have observed that the "trading platform + public chain + Meme coin" ecological strategy has become the industry "standard." This includes the previous "Binance Alpha + Meme Rush + Binance Wallet," Robinhood's "broker main trading platform + Robinhood chain + Meme coin listings," and the recent strategy actions of Coinbase finally catching up with the trend of "low market cap Meme coins listed on main trading platforms," all indicating that "ecosystem coin issuance + community speculation + platform coin listings" is gradually forming an assembly line-like industry model.

However, the Solana ecosystem indeed has its shortcomings in this aspect, lacking its own trading platform to serve as the "final stop for liquidity." Consequently, although there are platform leaders like Pump.fun within the ecosystem, it is challenging to allow profits to flow back and benefit itself. In the future, Coinbase + Base + Meme coins, Robinhood + Robinhood chain + Meme coins, and Binance + BSC + Meme coins may create even more wealth miracles.
