American financier Anthony Scaramucci has once again thrown his support behind the Clarity Act, claiming that the imperfect legislative effort is still ten times better than the proverbial "Wild West."

The Clarity Act, which aims to create clear rules for the nascent asset class in the United States, has been on everyone's lips over the past few months due to constant negotiations on Capitol Hill. However, there is relatively little progress.

"Bank the win"

Echoing recent comments made by Ripple executives, Scaramucci claims that perfection should not be the standard, arguing that the necessary compromises have already been made to find the common middle ground, but this progress gets dismissed.

"Democrats improved this bill in meaningful ways. Republicans moved. Bank the win," Scaramucci stressed.

The passage of the bill by the Senate has been delayed because of disagreements over ethics rules, enforcement, and some other hot-button issues.

Democrats had demanded restrictions that would prevent government officials from profiting from crypto. Negotiations involving Republican senators and the White House have produced some progress, with an updated draft banning covered officials from issuing tokens or securing crypto-linked sponsorship deals while in office.

However, Democrats are not fully satisfied. Some Dems believe that their ethics-related concerns have not been fully addressed, and there are still some demands pertaining to stronger investor protection.

The negotiations have moved closer, but the deal is not yet guaranteed, and Senate Majority Leader John Thune recently made it clear that the legislation was unlikely to pass before the August recess.

According to Polymarket bettors, the Clarity Act currently has a 38% chance of being signed into law in 2026. For comparison, the odds were at 78% in May, but the industry is seemingly dismayed by the stalling negotiations.
