If it weren't for Miss Lin Wanwan's reminder, I would have forgotten that I haven't checked my electricity bill in a long time. My electricity and broadband fees are automatically paid through my bank card, and recently it seems like the electricity bill has gotten cheaper, averaging 220 SGD (about 172 USD or 1,180 CNY) per month.

PS: Although it's called an electricity bill, it actually should include electricity, water, and gas fees combined, it should be called the energy fee.

The internet fee is fixed, nearly 65 SGD (about 50.6 USD or 348.5 CNY) per month. This internet fee does not include phone charges, it's purely the cost of the internet, ridiculously expensive. Some friends I know have installed routers that possibly use a SIM card, and then used a card as the internet connection, which costs about 20 SGD a month. After moving this time, I plan to try that too 😂😂

However, I checked the historical bills, and my electricity bill for 2024 and 2025 will be quite a bit higher compared to 2026, averaging about 300 SGD a month in 2025 and around 330 SGD a month in 2024.

In these past few years, our family has only added appliances and not reduced any, but indeed compared to the previous two years, cooking at home has decreased. When I first came to Singapore, I used to cook at home more than four days a week, especially cooking for the chipmunk.

Once the chipmunk reached the sixth grade, the meals in the middle school cafeteria became much better, and as they grew older, they preferred to dine with friends and classmates, so our gas and water usage has indeed decreased. Now I probably cook two to three meals a week.
