Ripple and Binance announced on Jan. 21 that RLUSD, Ripple’s U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, will be listed for spot trading, initially supporting Ethereum with XRP Ledger (XRPL) integration expected in a subsequent phase.

The Binance announcement states:

“Binance will list Ripple USD (RLUSD) and open trading for the following spot trading pairs at 2026-01-22 08:00 (UTC). To celebrate the launch, Binance is introducing a zero fee promotion for the RLUSD/ USDT and RLUSD/U trading pairs.”

The exchange detailed new spot pairs RLUSD/ USDT, RLUSD/U, and XRP/RLUSD, confirmed deposits were opened ahead of trading, and noted withdrawals will follow on Jan. 23. Binance also outlined portfolio margin eligibility, a zero BNB listing fee, and future inclusion in Binance Earn, while clarifying that trading access remains subject to jurisdictional restrictions and account verification requirements.

The Ripple announcement explains:

“The listing includes support for Ethereum, with the XRP Ledger (XRPL) coming soon, and trading pairs XRP/RLUSD and RLUSD/ USDT available on launch day.”

“This multichain listing ensures greater accessibility for users and institutions, whether they operate natively on XRPL or within the Ethereum ecosystem. For Ripple, it’s a crucial step toward enabling real-world payments, on-chain liquidity, and cross-network interoperability at scale,” Ripple added.

RLUSD is backed one-to-one by U.S. dollar deposits, short-term U.S. Treasuries, and cash equivalents, supported by monthly attestations. Ripple continues expanding partnerships across payments, custody, and decentralized finance, including Facilita Pay, Ripio, Osl, Bitpanda, and Amina Bank. RLUSD’s market capitalization recently surpassed $1.3 billion, reflecting growing adoption across remittances and onchain finance, while issuance under a New York Department of Financial Services (DFS) limited purpose trust charter and conditional OCC approval establish a dual regulatory framework.
