Salad.com, a GPU cloud platform powered by globally distributed infrastructure, has entered a strategic partnership with Golem Network, one of the world’s first decentralized computing protocols. The collaboration centers on an engineering trial to determine if Salad’s high- volume commercial workloads can be successfully executed via Golem’s Web3-based layer.

During this trial, Salad will “mirror” a segment of its existing cloud activity, mapping real-world traffic through Golem’s permissionless compute layer. The primary goal is to validate whether Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePINs) can reliably support the diverse and demanding workload profiles—such as AI inference, 3D rendering, and drug-discovery simulations—currently managed by Salad’s centralized stack.

Currently, Salad manages a complex web of traditional payment processors, usage-based billing systems, and reward suppliers to support its global network. By integrating crypto payments and decentralized execution, Salad aims to slash operational overhead and boost settlement efficiency. Bob Miles, CEO of Salad.com, highlighted the synergy:

Salad began its deep dive into DePIN protocols in Q3 2025, identifying Golem as the closest match for its platform requirements. Beyond technical feasibility, the shift to Golem’s native token (GLM) offers a clear economic incentive. According to Miles, utilizing a decentralized settlement layer allows Salad to eliminate significant middleman fees, potentially improving the company’s margin profile or allowing it to “compete more aggressively in a tight GPU market.”
