KOL self-statement: InfoFi is here, and my traffic has dropped to an all-time low.

In April 2023, I joined CT (Crypto Twitter) with a group of friends.

At that time, we were all writing airdrop strategies, spending 1-2 hours crafting a tweet, and easily getting 100,000 views within 12 hours. We did this every day: wake up, write tweets, post, eat, sleep, and repeat.

I think during that time, our small group of content creators probably accounted for about 10% of the entire CT's attention. Looking back now, it was truly a golden age.

Personally, I would receive 1-2 collaboration invitations from protocols each month, wanting to promote their events. But back then, it wasn't about the money; it was about influence.

One day I woke up to find that a tweet from my account with only 10,000 followers had garnered 400,000 views, and my thought at the time was, "Is this real? I can hardly believe it."

Seeing so many views and likes brought me joy that was 100 times greater than the numbers in my wallet (which was only in the four digits at the time, but still, money is money, and it was the first time I earned so much in my life).

This situation continued until September 2023, when the algorithm underwent some changes. Meanwhile, I faded out of CT until December 2023. If you're curious about the reason, it was because I had some interesting things to deal with in real life, so I could only post a maximum of three tweets a month.

Around August 2023, I realized that the airdrop space was not a long-term strategy and wasn't suitable for me. I wanted to… become a DeFi novice.

Look at all the creators doing airdrop content now; where are they? I can't see them at all in my feed, like ardizor, CC2, and so on.

In December 2023, a new chapter in my CT career began. A new writing style, more dedicated effort, new visuals, more connections, but fewer views.

You might wonder, are the views really less? Yes, they are indeed less.

I started putting in much more effort than before, but my tweets only got 20,000 views. Well, sometimes they could reach 100,000, but it wasn't as bad as it is now.

You ask what the situation is now?

Due to the popularity of the InfoFi narrative (mainly because of Kaito), people are posting low-quality content. The overall quality of content has significantly declined, and 99% of people post because "Protocol X is allocating 5% of tokens to yappers, so I need to yap a bit more."

The more rewards projects allocate to yappers, the worse the situation gets.

What else?

I feel that the quality of my content has reached an all-time high, and the effort I put in is also increasing, but the views and the number of new followers have dropped to an all-time low.

My entire feed is filled with content from the Kaito leaderboard, which is utterly worthless.

What should we do?

Perhaps during this market lull, we should discuss various protocols on Kaito, strive to provide valuable content, enhance content quality as much as possible, and make it unique.

Good luck to all content creators. This path is becoming increasingly difficult, and only the strongest can survive and thrive. Stay focused and patient, whether in CT or in life. One day, you will be rewarded.
