[Open-Source Agent Framework Pi Surpasses 100,000 Stars] September 1 news: Pi's GitHub repository has surpassed 100,000 stars, and the official team has also announced that Pi v2 is about to be launched. Pi is an open-source Agent harness that also provides a terminal Coding Agent. Over the past month, Pi has been rewriting the foundational Agent runtime framework. At the end of July, Harness v2 was introduced, focusing on task persistence, crash recovery, and multi-lane execution. In early August, this design entered the official API phase, and the team quickly moved on to Harness v3, redesigning storage and runtime states. Subsequently, v3 was consolidated into the current unified harness.md. The goal of the new Harness is to ensure that even if the process crashes halfway through, the Agent can resume from the last safe state; multiple Agent tasks can also execute in parallel within the same session history. The current dev branch still has hundreds of commits not yet included in the main branch, and the new Harness is advancing rapidly.
