[Obita CEO Zhang Dayong: AI Compresses Value Delivery to Seconds, Cross-Border Payments Can't Stay at T+1 to T+7]
BlockBeats News, August 29, at the 'AI × New Finance—Innovation Global Tour · Hong Kong Stop and Changjiang Star Program Launch Event,' Obita Co-Founder and CEO Zhang Dayong stated that AI is compressing tasks like drafting contracts, writing code, and making business decisions to seconds or even less. However, traditional cross-border payments may still take T+1 to T+7. The efficiency gap between the two will drive the reconstruction of payment infrastructure.
Zhang Dayong believes that blockchain and compliant stablecoins can reduce the multiple intermediary banks involved in traditional cross-border payments, enabling near real-time settlement of funds. By 2025, on-chain stablecoin transaction volume is expected to reach approximately $33 trillion, but the proportion truly used in the real economy remains very low. The next critical step is to address compliance, security, and enterprise adoption, allowing stablecoins to genuinely enter cross-border trade.
