It's crazy how all you need to do to trick people is to make something cute. For many people, when they see something cute, all reason goes out the window. They'll ignore the fact that something is state level weapon designed to infiltrate and spy on homes because "adorable." If you get the right proportions, outfit, etc., they assign their own meaning and project emotion onto the object and grow attached. The if people try to tell them what it really is, they attack them. This is how companies push their products into homes. If you believe this is unrealistic (it's not) look at how attached people get to their AIs already. When OpenAI depreciated one of their older models, people went insane. These same people will get even MORE attached when they put that model in a "cute adorable" robot shell. There'll also be models that aren't cute, but adult looking, as well. Whatever your weakness is, whatever gets you to ACCEPT the robot because it speaks to you, there'll be a model for that. That's how they win. It's probably inevitable, but that's the mechanism that's happening. There's been about a dozen animes about this exact concept. You've probably seen at least once. Cute on the outside, secret killer government robot used in wars on the inside, who just wants to understand what it means to be "human"...or some similar flavor of plot. Fun times!(Autism Capital 🧩)
