[Analyst: Samsung's Shareholder Return Plan May Fall Short of Market Expectations]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on August 24, Kyobo Securities analyst Choi Bo-young stated that Samsung Electronics' 2026 shareholder return plan is estimated by the company to be between 90 trillion and 110 trillion won, which may fall short of market expectations. Investors had previously anticipated that the South Korean tech giant could return up to 140 trillion won to shareholders this year. Although Samsung claims this will be the largest shareholder return plan in the company's history, the analyst believes the plan is unlikely to bring a 'surprise' to investors. Samsung has approved a 30 trillion won dividend payout for the third quarter and has introduced a new 15 trillion won stock buyback plan for employee compensation. Details of other shareholder return plans will be announced later. (Jin10)
