The newly released non-farm payroll data is pretty interesting. Thought it wouldn't beat expectations, but turns out it dropped big—down by 23,000 directly, with the unemployment rate falling to 4.1%, the lowest point in the past 14 months. Employment momentum is clearly slowing, which directly weakens rate hike bets. The September Fed meeting is very likely to maintain the current interest rate, and a rate cut this year seems unlikely.
Let’s see how U.S. stocks perform after tonight’s opening. Meanwhile, gold has already broken through a key resistance level and is very likely to push toward the $4,500 price.
