[South Korea's Financial Services Commission Announces Completion of Draft Digital Asset Framework Act, May Include AI Agent Payments]
According to South Korean media outlet Daum, the Financial Services Commission (FSC) has announced the completion of the draft for the 'Digital Asset Framework Act,' with only a few remaining issues requiring coordination. As South Korea's National Assembly finalizes its agenda for the second half of the year, efforts will be made to expedite the legislative process as much as possible. Reportedly, South Korea is considering including legal provisions related to AI Agent payments in the 'Digital Asset Framework Act' to address the trend of AI becoming a key player in small-scale, high-frequency payments in the future. Recommendations include granting legal authorization to establish regulatory frameworks for AI Agent payments, such as Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, payment liability allocation, cross-border transaction foreign exchange reporting, and programmable payment standards.
