Extropic signed a $75M letter of intent with the U.S. Department of Commerce to manufacture thermodynamic AI chips domestically.
The CHIPS R&D funding will scale their Thermodynamic Sampling Units, hardware that runs probabilistic AI workloads more efficiently than GPUs, at an American foundry.(Digg)
