[Siebert Becomes Kakao Pay Securities' U.S. Partner, Plans to Launch Tokenized Trading Service for Korean Stocks in the First Half of 2027]
Odaily Planet Daily News – Nasdaq-listed financial services company Siebert Financial Corp. has agreed to become the U.S. partner of Kakao Pay Securities. The two parties plan to introduce a tokenized trading service for Korean stocks to U.S. investors through the K-Stock Global Gateway.
Kakao Pay Securities holds approximately 9 million stock accounts in South Korea. The two parties aim to explore the tokenization of Korean stocks, allowing U.S. investors to access Korean stocks outside of the regular trading hours of the Korea Exchange, and to study whether tokenized securities can support T+0 settlement.
The initial tokenized trading service is targeted for launch in the first half of 2027. Both parties stated that any implementation must comply with regulatory requirements and investor protection standards in both the U.S. and South Korea.
