[Apple Surpasses NVIDIA to Reclaim Global Top Spot in Market Value] According to a report by Jinse Finance, on Monday, July 28 (local time), Apple (AAPL.O) surpassed NVIDIA (NVDA.O) to once again become the world's most valuable company by market capitalization, marking the first time since April 2025. NVIDIA's stock price fell nearly 5% on Monday, bringing its market value down to $4.77 trillion, as investors expressed concerns over the massive costs of building AI infrastructure, leading to an overall decline in the AI chip sector. Meanwhile, Apple's stock price rose 1%, pushing its market value to $4.95 trillion. The company is set to release its highly anticipated earnings report after the market closes on Thursday. NVIDIA had held the top spot in global market value since June 2025, when it overtook Microsoft, and briefly touched a $5 trillion market value in October last year. So far in 2026, NVIDIA's stock has risen only 4%, while Apple's has surged 24%. Apple's outperformance is attributed to its cautious approach to AI capital expenditures, favoring the leasing of computing power over building its own infrastructure—a strategy that has been well-received by investors.
