The content included sensitive information such as crypto wallet mnemonics, suspected Social Security numbers, legal discussions, and more. The issue arose because Anthropic did not add a noindex meta tag to the Claude shared pages. While its robots.txt file blocked the crawling of Claude shared URLs, Google could still index the pages when shared links appeared on public websites. The same issue also affected Claude's public artifacts, including applications, dashboards, and financial tools created within Claude. Search results previously displayed sensitive information such as payroll sheets containing employee names, internal CRM chat exports, and unpublished product roadmaps. By July 26, Anthropic updated its configuration and added the noindex tag, prompting Google to begin removing Claude-related results. Bing, however, still displays some shared links. A GitHub repository has archived 453 Claude conversations and 519 Grok conversations, totaling 11,241 plaintext messages.
