[Three iOS Users Sue Apple for Inaction After Losing $1.8 Million in Bitcoin Due to Fake Sparrow Wallet Download]
According to MacRumors, three iOS users filed a lawsuit against Apple in the U.S. Federal Court in California, alleging that they collectively lost approximately $1.8 million in Bitcoin after downloading a fake Sparrow Wallet app from the App Store between May and August 2025. The lawsuit claims that even when victims reported the fraudulent activity, Apple often took little to no action, and other fake Sparrow apps remained on the App Store. Sparrow Wallet developer Craig Raw publicly criticized Apple for its slow response to the appearance of multiple counterfeit versions of the app on the App Store, failing to promptly remove the fake apps, and noted that some fake versions still exist.
