**[Lee Jae-myung Invites U.S. Capital to Invest in South Korea's Tech Sector]**
Odaily Planet Daily News – South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, while attending the "Silicon Valley Venture Capital Meetup" in San Francisco, stated that South Korea-U.S. cooperation should go beyond the long-standing security alliance and further expand into the fields of technology, innovation, and startups. Lee Jae-myung emphasized that the U.S. possesses world-class venture capital capabilities and a global network, while South Korea has technological expertise, manufacturing competitiveness, and a robust startup ecosystem. The combination of these strengths from both countries could potentially give rise to the "next-generation Samsung, Hyundai, SK, Naver," and other global innovative enterprises.
He also urged U.S. venture capital firms to increase their investments in South Korea and announced that South Korea would improve its visa system, strengthen collaboration between domestic and international companies, research institutions, and investment organizations, and support the growth of South Korean startups into global enterprises through initiatives such as parent funds, national growth funds, pensions, and private capital linkages.
On the same day, participating venture capital firms signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the National Pension Service of Korea. (Yonhap News)
