On July 24 in Kyrgyzstan, Iran’s foreign minister met Pakistan’s deputy prime minister and foreign minister at the SCO foreign ministers’ meeting to discuss bilateral ties and regional and international developments. Iran thanked Pakistan for recent mediation efforts, blamed the US for a “breach of commitments and excessive pressure” as a main cause of current regional tensions, condemned US attacks on Iran’s critical infrastructure and said it will defend its sovereignty and interests. Iran urged closer SCO cooperation to uphold multilateralism and international rules. Pakistan called for respect for Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and offered diplomatic assistance to help prevent escalation. Iran also spoke by phone with Oman’s foreign minister about regional developments and commercial shipping security in the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf.(金十数据)
