Caixin: Hearing on 60,000 BTC money laundering case scheduled for July, Chinese victims to submit financial materials by June 18
According to Caixin, the 60,000 Bitcoin money laundering case (Qian Zhimin case) will hold a 'legal applicability' hearing in July. Chinese victims planning to pursue recovery through UK legal procedures must complete initial registration and submit detailed financial information by June 18, 2026:
This includes total investment, amount of loss, compensation received, and supporting evidence.
Reportedly, this hearing will be key to the disposition of the 60,000 BTC assets. If Chinese law applies, the relationship between victims and Blue Sky Greentech would be one of creditor and debtor, meaning victims could only recover their principal.
If UK law applies, victims would have proprietary interest in the Bitcoin, potentially allowing them to recover the appreciated portion of their losses as well.
