[Institutions: Probability of U.S.-Japan Joint Currency Intervention Significantly Rises]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, Masahiko Loo, senior fixed income strategist at State Street Global Advisors, stated that the probability of a U.S.-Japan joint currency intervention has significantly risen, referencing Friday's rate check report. 'Historically, rate checks by the Ministry of Finance are precursors to action,' he said. 'If no concrete action follows, it will fuel speculative pressure, as the market will test the authorities' resolve by further suppressing the yen,' Loo remarked. 'Regardless of timing, the market's "bottom line" is clear: 162, which is the level during the last intervention,' he added. (Jin10)
