[Institutions: Canadian Stock Market Expected to Outperform U.S. Stocks by 2026] Jin10 News, December 4 – Institutional analysis indicates that the Canadian stock market's benchmark index stalled in the first quarter as investors priced in the turmoil caused by U.S. President Trump's aggressive rhetoric and tariff policies. However, the index has since soared, and strategists predict this rally will continue through 2026. With four weeks remaining this year, the Canadian S&P/TSX Composite Index has already risen 26%, on track for its largest annual gain since 2009. For the first time since 2016, this benchmark index has outperformed the S&P 500 Index during a bull market, with a lead of as much as 10 percentage points. After adjusting for exchange rates, the gap is even more pronounced—the Canadian benchmark index is up 29%, compared to a 16% gain for the S&P 500 Index.
