[78-Year-Old Korean Crypto Investor Donates 1 Bitcoin to Seoul National University Hospital]
BlockBeats News, November 13, according to Korean media reports, 78-year-old Korean individual crypto investor Mr. Kim Ju-seok donated 1 Bitcoin, valued at approximately 157 million Korean won, to the Seoul National University Hospital Development Fund. At the donation ceremony, Mr. Kim stated: 'I believe Bitcoin is a new donation tool that aligns with the trends of the times. I hope this donation can serve as an opportunity to promote a new culture of sharing, and I hope to continue this form of sharing in the future.'
Mr. Kim is an investor with a strong interest in future technology investment fields such as digital assets, artificial intelligence, and quantum computers. In August of this year, he also donated 1 Bitcoin each to the Korean Red Cross and the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest.
His donation to the Red Cross marked the first high-value individual donation of digital assets in Korea after the Financial Services Commission allowed nonprofit organizations to conduct virtual asset donation transactions for the purpose of cash conversion. Seoul National University Hospital will follow virtual asset cash conversion guidelines to liquidate the donated funds into cash for use in the hospital's development fund.
