⚡️ RESEARCH: Blockchains don’t just need to agree on transactions, they also need to be fair about who goes first.
But perfect fairness is impossible because different computers see transactions in different orders, so they can’t all agree every time.
Hashgraph tried using median timestamps to fix this, but one bad node can still change the order. Newer systems like Aequitas and Themis solve this by grouping conflicting transactions instead of forcing a strict first-to-arrive rule.
Can blockchains ever be truly fair, or only “fair enough”?(Cointelegraph)
