Today, I coordinated the main directions of our further sanction efforts. These include the sanctions of our partners, for which we provide our proposals; our own sanctions, which in many ways align with those of other European countries; and our long-range sanctions, which take effect directly and most swiftly.
First, a significant number of Russian enterprises involved in the production of missiles and other weapons are still not under global sanctions. We will fix that.
Second, I gave instructions to step up cooperation with partners to synchronize the sanctions already in place. The cumulative effect of sanctions has the greatest impact, which is why it is crucial that partners adopt measures already implemented by their neighbors within their own jurisdictions. This requires substantial efforts within the Group of Seven, as well as across Europe – to ensure that EU sanctions are supported by Switzerland, Norway, the United Kingdom, and other countries outside the EU – and also close cooperation with Japan, Canada, and the United States. Russia’s losses from sanctions targeting its oil companies alone may reach 50 billion dollars next year, and increasing that amount of Russian losses is entirely achievable.
Third, together with the heads of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, we have identified priority targets for our long-range sanctions in the near term. We will definitely implement all of them.
I have also signed new decrees on Ukraine’s sanctions – targeting individuals who work for Russia’s military production and propaganda. And we will continue to block every scheme used to circumvent sanctions. Thank you to everyone who helps us!
Glory to Ukraine!(Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський)
