The bigger the pie, the wider the road—x402's flourishing scene is gradually unfolding. Why do I keep emphasizing that the x402 narrative is a “singularity” that sparks innovation? Just a couple of days ago, I was discussing with friends and worrying about the current Facilitator work mechanism, which relies too heavily on Coinbase subsidies and lacks effective long-term incentive mechanisms. This post proposes a potential solution: After reading through, it seems like three preliminary “payment” incentive mechanisms have been designed: 1) **Pay-to-earn**: The recipient can set up an instant “cashback” mechanism, where the payer receives a certain percentage of reward tokens upon completing the payment. Is this what they mean by spending equals cashback? 2) **Pay-to-mint**: Each payment action itself can become “mining.” Minting isn’t just a speculative act to acquire tokens but can also resemble long-term farming through transaction volume and natural interactions. It all depends on how the project’s Tokenomics is designed. 3) **Pay-to-launch**: Directly embedding token issuance into the payment process, where users participate in the token’s initial launch while making payments. *Ping* is a product born from this logic, offering a new innovative paradigm for many Launchpads. However, it’s clear that the current @coinbase CDP official Facilitator is overly “tool-like,” so there’s still a need to develop a dedicated Facilitator to enhance specific functionalities. For example, the Facilitator designed by @agileadtodark incorporates proxy contract functionality, addressing the current limitation where the recipient is an EOA address. The proxy contract handles token distribution, asset management, signature management, on-chain settlement, and other extended payment logic. Positioning as a usage-driven Launchpad is quite interesting—it means that asset issuance for this type of Launchpad will revolve around incentivizing user participation in payments, rather than the shallow application scenarios of traditional Agent token launches focused on chat-based use cases. **Note**: Looking forward to more out-of-the-box ideas contributing to the evolution of x402’s technical path. Let’s build together! If anyone has other interesting thoughts, feel free to share them in the comments for discussion.
