Citigroup: Federal Reserve meeting minutes may echo Powell's testimony, 'wait-and-see' period may end in late summer

According to a report by Golden Finance, Citigroup analysts said they expect the meeting minutes to suggest that "the trajectory of interest rates will depend on the data released in June, July, and August," which is consistent with what Federal Reserve Chairman Powell said at a congressional hearing. Powell has laid the foundation for a possible rate cut by the Federal Reserve at its September meeting, provided that the price increases caused by tariffs show no signs of causing sustained inflation and the economy continues to create enough job opportunities to prevent the unemployment rate from rising too quickly. Citigroup analysts said, "The 'wait-and-see' period may end in late summer
