While doing due diligence on potentially investing in the Las Vegas @Athletics, I stumbled on @BananaBall_. Now I’m looking for the Banana Balls of startups. Let me explain: I love traditional baseball. But it’s the almost identical to the game that was invented in 1839. But Banana Ball… Banana Ball has revolutionized the entire experience by changing all the rules. Game tied in the ninth inning? Forget extra innings. The game becomes a one-on-one showdown between the pitcher and the batter. The batter hits the ball and has to race around ALL the bases while the pitcher scrambles to get the ball back to home plate first. It's akin to a soccer shootout, but on the diamond instead of the pitch. If a fan catches a fly ball, the batter is out. The players do choreographed dances between innings. Instead of accepting that baseball games can drag on for hours with minimal action, they asked: "What if we made every moment exciting and fun?" When it comes to investing, I’m a Banana Ball man. Founders who take what everyone knows and accepts, then completely reimagines it and makes it exciting and fun. As my son, Adam puts it, we're "funding the rebellion." When someone challenges an industry with genuine innovation, everyone gets better. @Tesla made all car companies improve. @SpaceX revolutionized space exploration. Banks are finally embracing @Bitcoin custody because they had to adapt or get left behind. These are my favorite companies to back. You just need someone willing to reinvent the game. 🍌
