Web3 security company CertiK has released a report stating that Web3 security suffered losses of nearly $2.5 billion in the first half of 2025, with a net loss of $2.29 billion, surpassing the full year of 2024. Among them, the two major events of Bybit and Cetus Protocol caused a loss of 1.78 billion US dollars, accounting for 72% of the total loss. If these two events are excluded, the industry loss is $690 million, and the distribution of industry risks is still complex. In the second quarter, phishing attacks resulted in a loss of approximately $400 million, becoming the main threat. CertiK suggests that the industry strengthen pre protection and real-time monitoring to cope with the escalation of threats.
