According to BlockBeats, on May 20th, Ukrainian President Zelensky stated that he had two different forms of phone conversations with US President Trump on Monday. The first time was a one-on-one conversation between the two, while the second time involved the participation of leaders from France, Finland, Germany, Italy, and the European Union. Zelensky stated that the second call lasted longer and had a different nature.
Zelensky said that we are considering holding the highest level meeting of all parties, including Ukraine, Russia, the United States, EU countries, and the United Kingdom. He pointed out that Türkiye, the Vatican or Switzerland could be the venue of the conference and hoped that the conference could be held as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Zelensky stated that Ukraine will not withdraw its troops from parts of its territory, nor will it yield to any ultimatum from Russia. He hopes that the prisoner exchange agreement previously reached with Russia can be realized in the coming days or weeks.
In his first conversation with Trump, Zelensky emphasized the importance of achieving a ceasefire, continuing sanctions against Russia, and seeking Ukraine's opinion on any decision involving Ukraine.
In addition, Zelensky expressed his expectation that Europe will announce a new round of strong sanctions against Russia, and urged the United States to increase sanctions on Russian banks and energy sectors to reduce Russia's military spending funds. (Golden Ten)
