Data: DeFi security incident in April resulted in a loss of $92.5 million for the crypto industry

According to Immunefi's report cited by The Block, the cryptocurrency industry suffered a total loss of $92.5 million in April 2025 due to 15 DeFi attacks, an increase of 27.3% compared to the same period last year and a 2.2-fold increase compared to March. So far this year, the cumulative losses have reached 1.74 billion US dollars, including a 1.46 billion US dollar vulnerability attack suffered by Bybit in February. Excluding this incident, the actual loss for the year was approximately 280 million US dollars, lower than the same period last year. The main attack incidents this month include UPCX ($70 million) and KiloEx ($7.5 million), and some stolen funds have been recovered. The attack targets mainly focus on Ethereum and BNB chains, accounting for 60% of the total.
