Natasha Cazenave, Executive Director of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), recently issued a warning that with the growth of the cryptocurrency industry and deepening ties with traditional finance, a sharp decline in cryptocurrency prices in the future could trigger "broader financial stability issues". She pointed out that currently, encrypted assets only account for 1% of global financial assets and have not yet caused significant spillover effects, but their connection with traditional markets is growing rapidly. The EU has strengthened regulation through MiCA regulations, but Cazenave stated that "there are no secure encrypted assets" and that more rules may be needed in the future. Currently, over 95% of European banks are not involved in cryptocurrency, and 10% -20% of European investors hold cryptocurrency assets.
