Just now, a friend asked if, since WTI is already at 81 dollars, should we continue shorting? Actually, I already mentioned yesterday that personally, I started to short some positions when Trump indicated that he had opened a negotiation window with Iran. Currently, my average price for WTI is about 81.5 dollars.

The main reason for this price is that I chased Brant after it reached 90 dollars. I've mentioned this several times before, because the price difference between Brant and WTI reached a maximum of 8 dollars last week, and now it has returned to 3 dollars. Of course, I have talked about this many times as well.

Although oil prices have been falling in the past two days, the situation is still unclear. It can't be said that we are definitely on the path of continuous decline, mainly depending on how significant the decisions from the U.S. and Iran regarding negotiations are. I believe negotiations are certain, but whether they will start now is hard to say.

As of now, the U.S. has ended 13 consecutive days of attacks. Since last Friday, there have been no new attacks on Iran, and Iran has also stopped attacks on U.S. related bases in the Gulf region. However, the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked, and the market is only anticipating that the U.S. and Iran will return to the negotiation table.

So personally, I have only increased my short positions on WTI, but I have not added to the better-priced Brant. The next time I add positions should be when I can hear clear signs of negotiations.
