My Journey of Upgrading and Battling with Vibe Coding

Vibe coding has been around for more than a year, and the changes over this year have been nothing short of revolutionary. It's like transitioning from the Foundation Establishment stage to the Nascent Soul stage; no longer an ant, but a master of destiny. On one hand, I have been continuously learning and iterating, and on the other hand, I have benefited from the rapid development of AI.

A year ago, under the "praise" of those self-media influencers, I started using Cursor. The first product I created was an analysis tool for on-chain MeMe, which I named Jin. Just a couple of days ago, it had 1,300 users. I casually shared the gmgn link, and to my surprise, I accumulated around 2,000 U in commission income.

Looking back now, diving into vibe coding was indeed the best choice. It’s not exactly simple. It consists of multiple systems: one agent analyzes the smart money purchasing MeMe, another agent collects information and conducts analysis, and finally, it is published to Telegram. At that time, I also created another AI to analyze good MeMe, aiming for automated trading. In the end, I found that the AI's win rate was about the same as a human's, so I didn’t use it.

This product took a total of three months to develop, partly because I tend to be a perfectionist, so many details were done to a high standard. But more importantly, I was misled by those self-media influencers. The coding capabilities of AI were not as strong as I thought. It was impossible to complete a full project, and the modules I wrote separately often had bugs; changing one thing would lead to issues elsewhere.

Now, just a year later, the situation has completely changed. The coding capabilities of AI have improved tremendously. It is now truly possible to create a website with just one sentence. So, this is indeed the best time for vibe coding.

However, I am still very fortunate to have chosen vibe coding a year ago. Because since then, AI thinking has been ingrained in my genes. Whenever I encounter any situation or difficulty, my brain's thought process starts from an AI perspective.

Over the past year, products in vibe coding have emerged and become increasingly refined. Whether it's Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, Windsurf, or others, there’s always one that suits you.

To be honest, there are still some barriers for newcomers to vibe coding, and they need to overcome certain difficulties. This is mainly because these products were initially designed for programmers. At that time, I also needed to tinker here and there. However, everyone needs to bravely take that first step, and they will quickly adapt. Vibe coding is not just a tool; it’s a new way in the AI era. This is my first realization.

My second realization is to maintain a proper mindset. Don’t believe the nonsense from those bloggers about finishing a product in 10 minutes.

When you want to transition from making a toy to a truly usable product, you need to adopt the right attitude and continue on the path of upgrading and battling.

A year ago, I could only use Jupyter Lab for data analysis.

In creating a product, I also needed to learn about:

In a production environment, you need to consider asynchronous processing, high concurrency, error handling, etc.

You also need to learn version control, databases, etc.

FastAPI and front-end development are also essential.

Servers, domains, Docker, etc., are also necessary.

But there’s no need to worry about anything because of AI; if you don’t understand, just ask. If you still don’t understand, keep asking.

A beautiful era has just begun.
